Julie Beardall

Enrolled Nurse (Approved Case Manager, LTCSA)

I have worked as a Case Manager for Access Brain Injury Services since 2004.

I have a full time caseload, most with lifelong support needs as a result of traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury (stroke, cerebral palsy), spinal cord injury and alcohol related brain injury.

Previous to my current employment, I trained as an Enrolled Nurse and worked at Concord Hospital Head and Neck Trauma Unit where I gained experience in management of acute injury. Subsequently I have worked as a Community Nurse, the Coordinator of Westlink Head Injury Recreation & Leisure Services and as a Coordinator of Care programs for clients with high needs at Rainbow Home & Support Services.  I have 30 years experience in the disability sector. In this time, I have had the opportunity to develop skills in working in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective rehabilitation and support programs and working with clients and their families to achieve their goals in a community setting.  I have experience in front line management of services as well as direct service provision.

I maintain a special interest in Nursing and enjoy working with clients with complex medical needs.  I have expertise in palliative care programs.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Access Brain Injury Services acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
