I graduated June 1987 and was employed by Western Sydney Area Health Service (Parramatta Rehab and Westmead Hospital) in OT rotational position various clinical areas, neurology/ neurosurgery, amputees, outpatients, establishment of OT services on the Trauma Unit.
During August 1990-April 1997, I worked as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Westmead Brain Injury Unit.
During May 1997-April 2000, I worked at CRS Australia as a Rehabilitation Consultant (Case Manager PO2) in the Specialist Services Unit Acquired Brain Impairment Team providing vocational Case Management services, specialist OT assessment and training for clients of CRS Australia.
In May 2000 I commenced work with Access Brain Injury Services where I was employed as a Case Manager and Occupational Therapist.
I am very comfortable using my skill base to case manage a variety of complex ABI clients. Due to my extensive experience with equipment prescription and treatment modalities for physical deficits a large percentage of my caseload with Access BIS tends to be clients who have significant physical as well as cognitive deficits that require multi disciplinary slow steam rehabilitation programs and community reintegration.
In addition I have experience in the following treatment areas
- Complex equipment prescription eg. wheelchairs, pressure care, hoists, beds
- Driver Trained Occupational Therapist: off-road and on-road assessment for ABI clients
- Orthotic management : custom splinting, Post Botox serial casting of upper limbs, Upper limb retraining
